DISTRIBUTION in North Carolina: One record, from Fort Fisher in New Hanover County. This is a subtropical and relatively non-migratory species, ranging northward only to central Florida and central Texas. There are no previously known East Coast records north of Georgia.
ABUNDANCE in North Carolina: Accidental.
FLIGHT PERIOD in North Carolina: The only record was one photographed by Derb Carter on July 19, 1998.
