DISTRIBUTION in North Carolina: Scattered through the mountains, Piedmont, and western Coastal Plain, as well as the Sandhills. Apparently absent from nearly all of the Coastal Plain, and absent from most eastern Piedmont counties as well. Likely occurs in all mountain counties.
ABUNDANCE in North Carolina: Generally uncommon in the mountains and foothill ranges. Very local and rare farther east, mainly in the Sandhills.
FLIGHT PERIOD in North Carolina: A single brood: early March to mid-April in the Piedmont and Sandhills, peaking in mid-March in the Sandhills and late March in the upper Piedmont; primarily from late March to early May in the mountains.
